Tiger Woods to play in Pro-Am Event

TIGER Woods has agreed to feature in the field at the JP McManus Pro-Am event, which will be played before his scheduled appearance at The Open Championship.

Last week, the legendary American made his first professional outing since suffering two broken legs in a car crash in February 2021, defying the odds to earn a 47th-placed finish at The Masters.

When quizzed on his next appearance after his final round, the 46-year-old refused to commit to next month’s US PGA Championship, but confirmed that he intended to make the trip to Scotland for The Open at St Andrews.

In preparation for that tournament, it appears that the 15-time major winner will spend time in Ireland after being added to the field at the JP McManus Pro-Am event at Adare Manor.

The two-day event will take place on July 4 and 5, and the likes of Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy and Brooks Koepka have already agreed to compete.  – sportinglife.ng
