Secrets to breakthroughs

Most people waste time thinking deeply about how to obtain life-changing breakthroughs yet the open secrets they need for breakthroughs are always at their disposal. There could be many factors that cause the occurrence of positive turning points in life. But the following ones are the most important since they are universal, simple and practical. 
Prayer and fasting
Prayer is a powerful success factor. It is a source of power that changes things. When prayer is combined with fasting there will be rapid manifestation of major breakthroughs. For instance when Esther and Mordecai prayed and fasted three days and three nights a great deliverance happened. Jesus acknowledged the power of prayer in Mark 9:29, “this kind can come forth by nothing but by prayer and fasting.” This means some situations will only change in response to prayer and fasting.
Quality decision
Successful people make quality decisions in response to the deep convictions in their hearts. They do not allow the suggestions and choices of others to override their convictions. They have a common characteristic of making prompt decisions and sticking with them to completion. In sharp contrast, failures hesitate to make quality decisions, frequently change decisions made, and are carried about by every wind of suggestion from their external world. The account of Ruth’s making a quality decision to cleave to Naomi paid great dividends as she eventually met her destiny-changing husband, Boaz. On the contrary Orpah refused to make a quality decision and followed the path of least resistance back into idolatry and oblivion. God respects and strengthens people who are decisive, determined and resolute.
Diligence
Success favours the most diligent people. Slothful and lazy people will always be in want. Whatever your chosen field if you work very hard your star will shine. Hard work breeds success. However, it is industry combined with faithfulness, humility and skill that bring major positive changes in one’s life. For example Joseph the son of Jacob was so hard working even in menial jobs that God had no choice but to promote him to a very prominent position in a foreign nation.
Gifts and talents
Life-transforming turning points are brought about by the consistent development and exercise of one’s gifts and talents. Daniel’s cultivated gifts of wisdom and interpretation of dreams and visions caused him to enjoy unparalleled favour and success in the palaces of Babylon kings. Joseph continued to exercise his gift of interpretation of dreams in prison. And his gift eventually fished him out of imprisonment and placed him in one of the most cherished position in Egypt.
Companionship
It is a fact that no matter how much gifted, talented and diligent you are, as long as nobody recognises you there is no promotion. Someone must believe in you as well as recognise your abilities before your promotion comes.
It was Barnabas, the encourager, who brought the great apostle Paul into the limelight. Who you hang around with determines your level of success.
Revelation
Without a vision people perish. Likewise without revealed information success remains uncertain. Lack of revelation is one of the major causes of failure in life. In the abundance of revelation there is abundant success. Successful people know some things that others do not know. When Daniel got the revelation from a book that their time of captivity in Babylon was over (Daniel 9:2) he began to ask God to effect their deliverance. It is true that what you do not know can keep you in bondage. Revelation is a bondage-breaker.
Liberality
Giving and receiving are two sides of the coin of life. Liberality cause good things to come your way. Mike Murdock expresses this in the most amazing way,” what you make happen for others, God will make happen for you.” Luke 6:38 says, “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed don, and shaken together, and running over, shall man give into your bosom.”
 Benevolence can cause you to witness amazing breakthroughs especially in material and financial things. Cornelius was remembered by God for his prayers and almsgiving. The widow of Zarephath received a miracle of supply after giving food to Elijah. You can have your own breakthroughs the same way.
