Local finance firm supports youth football

WANAMARI Financial Services has strengthened its corporate social investment programme through a sponsorship agreement with Real Saints Football Academy, reinforcing its commitment to youth development and financial empowerment.

The partnership will see the financial services company provide football kits and boots to young players while also introducing mentorship and financial literacy programmes aimed at equipping aspiring athletes with life skills beyond the football pitch.

Wanamari Financial Services Chief Executive Officer Hillary Mushamuviri said the initiative aligns with the company’s broader mission of empowering individuals and communities.

“Supporting talented young footballers with the equipment they need is one way of creating opportunities. We believe that when talent is matched with the right support, young people are better positioned to realise their ambitions.”

He said the company’s involvement extends beyond sports sponsorship, with plans to provide financial intelligence training and mentorship to academy players.

“Sport can create opportunities, but financial planning helps sustain success. We want these young athletes to understand the importance of managing resources responsibly, investing wisely and preparing for life beyond their playing careers,” he said.

Real Saints Football Academy welcomed the partnership, describing it as an investment in both the sporting and personal development of its players.

Academy coach Sean Tarasikirwa said the sponsorship would provide much-needed support while inspiring young footballers to pursue their goals.

“We sincerely appreciate Wanamari’s support. This partnership goes beyond providing kits and boots; it sends a strong message to these young players that their talent is recognised and their dreams are worth investing in,” he said.

Tarasikirwa said the academy values partners that appreciate the broader needs of youth development.

“Wanamari understands that developing young footballers requires more than identifying talent. It involves creating opportunities, providing guidance and helping them prepare for the future,” he said.

The partnership forms part of Wanamari Financial Services’ broader corporate social investment strategy, which focuses on creating sustainable opportunities through entrepreneurship support, financial inclusion and youth empowerment initiatives.

With the new partnership in place, both organisations expressed confidence that the collaboration will contribute to the development of young talent while promoting financial literacy and long-term personal growth among aspiring footballers.
