Satewave, Afribiz join forces

SATEWAVE Technologies and Afribiz have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating the introduction and expansion of next-generation technologies across South Africa and other African markets.

The partnership was formally concluded at a signing ceremony held at Satewave Technologies’ offices on Thursday, 27 August 2026, marking the beginning of a long-term collaboration between the two companies.

Afribiz Future Tech (Pty) Ltd is jointly owned by Satewave and Afribiz and will launch its operations in South Africa, bringing together the strengths and capabilities of both companies.

The business will focus on electric vehicles, EV charging infrastructure, solar and renewable energy solutions, medical equipment, telecommunications, computer hardware and other emerging technologies. Initial electric vehicle brands associated with the collaboration include Geely, Firefly and Hongqi.

TECHNOLOGY, JOBS AND ECONOMIC GROWTH

The partnership is about more than introducing new technologies and products. Satewave and Afribiz aim to use the venture to support job creation, skills development, investment, localisation and economic growth in South Africa and other African countries as operations expand.

Opportunities are expected to be created across sales, engineering, technical support, installation, maintenance, logistics, warehousing, renewable energy and EV charging infrastructure.

Satewave Technologies, which has its origins in Hong Kong and now operates in Zimbabwe, brings international technology, product and technical capabilities to the partnership.

Afribiz is a South African-founded diversified infrastructure and investment group with more than two decades of experience across infrastructure, construction, property, energy, mining, ICT and other sectors. Afribiz brings its African market experience, business-development capabilities and stakeholder networks to the partnership.

“Africa must participate meaningfully in the industries and technologies that will shape the future. This partnership is about bringing global innovation together with African capability to create jobs, develop skills, attract investment and build sustainable businesses,” Collen Mashawana, representing Afribiz, said.

Zhou Zhonggou, representing Satewave Technologies, weighed in saying “we see enormous opportunity in Africa. Together with Afribiz, we want to introduce innovative technologies while building sustainable businesses that contribute to local economies and create opportunities for communities.”

The partnership will seek to work with governments, financial institutions, investors, technology manufacturers, developers, energy companies, healthcare institutions and other strategic partners as it grows.

Through Afribiz Future Tech, Satewave and Afribiz share a common ambition: to connect global innovation with African opportunity and build a technology business that creates jobs, attracts investment and contributes to Africa’s economic growth.
