ZOL launches new low-cost Fibroniks package, increases data caps on other packages
ZOL Zimbabwe on Wednesday launched its lowest priced fibre package; Fibroniks Lite, as the company aim to provide quality connectivity accessible and affordable to all.
The launch of the package coincides with the launch of ZOL’s dynamic new consumer-centric website that features a vibrant design and a clean layout to guide visitors through the internet service provider’s (ISP) many dynamic services.
The cost of internet connectivity is a hindrance for the wider availability of Internet connections in Africa, a trend that ZOL aims to combat. According to the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ), Fibre – the fastest of connections – accounts for just 0,21 percent of subscriptions in Zimbabwe with mobile internet making up 95,6 percent of total internet subscriptions.
The internet is becoming much more than just a tool, it is a fundamental part of society. By combining its unrivalled speeds and excellent customer service with a game-changing price tag of $29, ZOL will ensure that high-speed and quality internet becomes a basic right for everyone. The $29 per month entry-level package includes:
* Unmatched speeds within its price range
* 15gb Data
* ZOLphone cordless handset
* Free ZOL-ZOL Calls
* $2 free ZOL minutes per month (national calls only)
The package is available to users in Harare, Bulawayo and Victoria Falls within areas that fibre is already laid.
Benefits include a cordless ZOL phone handset offering customers the best low cost phone service nationwide, with calls starting from as little as 0,10c per minute.
Not content with the upgrades, and in a move intended to address the current economic climate for its customers, ZOL have also introduced an auto-connect function. Should a client’s account be suspended due to lack of payment, their account will be reconnected automatically if payment is made within seven days. A move that has been welcomed by businesses and individuals alike.
In a significant upgrade, ZOL has also increased the data allowance on all of their capped Home Fibroniks packages:
Fibroniks – Basic Essentials $39p/m was 15GB now 25GB p/m Fibroniks – Family Essentials $89 was 30GB now a massive 50GB p/m
Not only can customers enjoy super-fast speeds on fibre, but now they can browse and stream for longer!
As if launching a brand new low-cost package and increasing the data caps wasn’t enough, they have
reconfigured all of their capped and uncapped packages. The upload and download speeds are now
the same (symmetric)
