Liverpool’s Mamadou Sakho

Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho has reportedly decided against contesting his positive drug test.

The French international tested positive for a fat-burning substance following the Reds’ UEFA Europa League win against Manchester United last month.

He had until yesterday to request a B sample, but the Press Association reports that he opted not to and is instead awaiting his punishment.

Liverpool teammate Kolo Toure was banned for six months for a similar offence during his time at Manchester City. Kickoff.com
