Tuku, Lady Storm to light up Cutty Sark

EXQUISITE resort, Cutty Sark in Kariba will this Saturday host senior superstar Oliver Mtukudzi in a show that is set to increase traffic to the tourist resort town.

Tuku will perform alongside lady of the moment Lyn Magodo better known as Lady Storm. The potentially explosive gig will also serve as a stepping stone for lady storm will be performing with Tuku for the first time.

The event is dubbed “A Lakeside Party with Doc Tuku and The Black Spirits” and, it’s set to be the perfect winter warmer in the resort town.

The show comes hot on the heels of Tuku’s majestic performance on Africa Day eve in the Capital where he put up a stellar performance alongside Alick Macheso.

Lady Storm, who appears on Jah Prayzah’s DVD album as Eriza has become one of the most sought-after performers in the country.
“I don’t even know how to explain the feeling right now because just the thought of sharing the stage with the legendary Tuku is overwhelming,” she was quoted recently.
‘‘These days I am being invited to perform at so many gigs but this one will be special and I am honoured to be part of such a show.”
The lady of the moment’s schedule is packed as promoters scramble for her services, but nothing is more important than a date with Tuku in the resort town of Kariba.

“It is the first for me in Kariba so I am just hopping that people will come in their numbers to witness first-hand Eriza’s magic,” she said.

Tuku is an international star and will definitely satisfy foreign holiday makers who usually grace the joint.

The hotel is situated at the top of Nzou Drive in Kariba. It is set on 72 acres of private gardens on the shores of Lake Kariba. It overlooks the beautiful Lake Kariba and has immaculate gardens and fifty eight rooms available. There are eight Family rooms, eight double rooms and forty twin rooms and these rooms are divided into deluxe, standard and two Suites.

It has a conference room that houses three hundred people and a boardroom that takes twenty five people. The hotel’s restaurant comfortably holds one hundred and ten guests.

Cutty Sark has many activities available these include a tennis court, swimming pool, trampoline, darts, pool table and volley ball. Three bars (depending on guests requirements) – there is a dining room bar, a bridge bar (residents/everyday bar) and the pool bar ideal for functions like weddings, parties etc
