Spanish giants Barcelona have confirmed that Brazilian superstar Neymar will remain at Camp Nou.

The Selecao star has been the subject of contractual talk for several months, with growing interest from Manchester United and Paris Saint Germain in recent times as talks with his La Liga club stalled.

Yet the talented forward is expected to sign a new five-year deal in the coming days, as club president Josep Maria Bartomeu confirmed the 24-year-old is not leaving Catalonia.

“Neymar wants to stay here. In the next few days we will finalise his contract extension,” he told reporters.

With a release clause of €230 million, it seemed unlikely any of Europe’s elite clubs would have met Barca’s asking figure, with the lethal ‘MSN’ strikeforce seemingly intact ahead of the 2016/17 season.

Neymar may however return to his club less rested than his teammates, as he is set to represent his country at the Olympic Games in August. Kickoff.com
