ZIFA moves to quell referees’ saga

THE Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA ) on Thursday made strides in making sure the organisation remains a viable entity by appointing tried and tested personnel within their respective standing committees.

ZIFA announced the development through its website and Vice President Omega Sibanda will chair most of the standing committees that were laid down by the country’s football mother body.
Sibanda will chair the critical Technical Development Committee that comprises veteran sports administrators Nelson Matongorere,Gibson Homela,BN Academy director Bheki Nyoni and former Mighty Warriors head coach Rosemary Mugadza.
With the local Premier Soccer League being at loggerheads with several stakeholders over the appointment and performances of referees, ZIFA president Philip Chiyangwa will head the Referees Committee and will be ably supported by former referees Gladmore Muzambi and Thabani Mkanjo.
