Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti eyes English UCL rivals Chelsea and Manchester United
BAYERN Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti expects the Champions League to be more competitive this season with the return of English giants Manchester United and Chelsea.
Liverpool may also join their local rivals in Europe’s premier club tournament as they are in the last round of qualifiers after finishing fourth in the Premier League in 2016/17.
“The Champions League this year will be more competitive because there are some really important English teams in the competition,” said Ancelotti.
“United, City, Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool – I think, and I hope, for Jurgen [Klopp, Reds boss] to win qualification.
“The Champions League will surely be more competitive and more difficult to win,” reasoned the 2014 Champions League winner with Real Madrid.
Chelsea were the last English club to win the trophy currently held by Real, achieving the feat in 2012. kickoff.com
