TOTTENHAM striker Harry Kane says he is looking to go even further in 2018 after finishing this year as Europe’s top goalscorer.

Kane finished atop the goal-scoring pile across Europe’s top five leagues with 56 goals in all competition in 2017 following back-to-back hat-tricks in the English top flight.

That also meant the England international bagged 39 Premier League goals in this calendar year, breaking Alan Shearer’s record in the process, and Kane is confident of improving in 2018.

A lot of the build-up was about Alan Shearer’s record and if I could break it but I was calm, I was confident and when you have players like Christian Eriksen putting in crosses like that (for the first goal) as a striker, it’s a dream,” Kane told SpursTV after Tuesday’s 5-2 win over Southampton.

“It’s amazing. Keano (Robbie Keane)…I grew up watching him play and scoring goals. Teddy (Sheringham) the same. To be up there with those names is something I’m very proud of and you know what I’m like – I want to continue it and hope 2018 is even better.” – kick0ff.com
