Zinedine Zidane signs new deal…to stay at Santiago Bernabeu until 2020
REAL Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has confirmed he has signed a new deal which will keep him at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2020.
Zidane enjoyed a phenomenal start to his career as head coach at Los Blancos, winning eight trophies in his first two years in charge, including a La Liga and Champions League double last season.
However, the Galacticos have struggled to replicate their league form this season and are already 16 points off the pace in their title defence, with leaders Barcelona threatening to run away with the title at the half-way stage of the campaign.
However, Madrid have shown their faith in the former World Cup winner with France, although Zidane has played down the importance of being offered a new deal.
When asked about reports of a new deal after Real Madrid’s 5-2 aggregate win over Numancia in the Copa del Rey last-16, Zindane said: “It is already signed. I have until 2020.
“I go match by match, year by year, like last year. I cannot look two or three years ahead because having the contract does not mean anything.” – Kickoff.com
