Arsene Wenger won’t panic over missed Aubameyang deal
ARSENE Wenger has played down the impact of potentially missing out on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, stating he is satisfied with his current options at Arsenal.
The Gunners are believed to have seen a €50m bid for the Gabon international rejected by Borussia Dortmund, leaving a January move to the Emirates Stadium in doubt.
However, speaking after Wednesday’s Carabao Cup semi-final win over Chelsea, Wenger feels missing out on Aubameyang would not be as bad as the club’s fans might fear, especially after Alexis Sanchez’s departure to Manchester United.
“The best [thing] is I don’t talk about it [transfers]. It wouldn’t help,” said the Frenchman.
“If something happens it happens, if it doesn’t we are strong enough to focus on the players we have.
“I’m perfectly happy with the players we have. At the moment, we are open to strengthening the team but we are not close to signing anybody.” – kickoff.com
