Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski seeking ‘a new challenge’
BAYERN Munich look set to lose their star striker Robert Lewandowski after it was confirmed that he wants out at the Bundesliga champions.
Lewandowski, 29, has been linked with Inter, Juventus, Chelsea and Real Madrid over the past 12 months but Bayern have remained firm in their stance over their attacking talisman.
The Pole has been a key figure for the Bavarians since his arrival from rivals Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer in 2014, with 151 goals in 195 games across all competitions.
With four straight Bundesliga titles, his agent Pini Zahavi revealed his client’s intentions ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
“Robert feels the need to change clubs and embark on a new challenge,” he told Sport Bild. “Bayern Munich’s directors have already been informed.
“Robert’s motivations aren’t money or a particular team since practically every top club would like to have the best striker in the world.”
