Spice Girls reunion marred by ‘horrific’ sound problems

The Spice Girls have kicked off their eagerly-awaited reunion tour – but some fans were left disappointed after complaining of “horrific” sound problems at the show.

The 90s pop group – who have returned as a four-piece without Victoria Beckham – took to the stage for their opening concert at Dublin’s Croke Park on Friday night.

But during the show, several concertgoers said they were struggling to hear which songs were being performed – despite having paid €110 (£96) for tickets.

The pop group took to the stage at Dublin’s Croke Park but many concertgoers struggled to hear which songs were being performed.

One fan wrote on Twitter: “There’s something wrong when the crowd at a Spice Girls concert are all sitting down because no one has a clue what song is on because the sound really is that bad.”

Another concertgoer tweeted: “We cant hear a thing sitting up the top row, up the back, all we’re getting is mumble, and for €110 a ticket, not good!”

One fan described the sound as “horrific”, adding: “Even now when the girls are just talking you can’t hear them properly.” After the show, Melanie Brown – known as Mel B – acknowledged the sound problems as she thanked fans for attending the Dublin concert.
