Slice Group unveils new offerings

ZIMBABWE’s second largest fast food franchise company Slice Group launched its first and new Slice Grill & Burger at Avondale Shopping Centre in Harare last week.

The group has 25 outlets across the country, which consists of Chicken Slice, Pizza Slice, Slice bakery and Creamy slice.
Tawanda Mutyebere, Slice Group’s chief executive, said his idea to provide affordable and delicious food to long distance travelers along Harare-Masvingo road was now bearing fruit.
“The crazy idea came in 2010 when I thought about constructing a restaurant in my home area such that when people are traveling to South Africa they will stop by and eat, and that was the beginning of Chicken Slice,” he said.
“We also thought of the grill and we understand people in this area like grilled chicken, burgers and salads. It was a crazy idea and l said let’s start with Avondale, and here we are.”
Eve Gadzikwa, the Slice Distributors deputy chairperson, said the opening of the new brand will result in the company satisfying customers from different classes of the community.
“From the humble beginnings, Slice has grown in size and importance, gradually establishing itself as a locally, nationally and regionally recognized fast food outlet,” she said.
“We take pride as we get requests to open branches across the country and outside”’ she added.
The country’s fast food industry has seen significant growth in the last decade, with a substantial number of companies such as Simbisa Brands Limited, Kelly’s Chicken, Chicken Village, Eat and Lick, Mambo’s, Papa Chino and Meat and Eat servicing the industry. – By  Freedom Mashava
