The former Formula One boss is expecting his first son with his third wife, 44-year-old Brazilian marketing director Fabiana Flosi.

Ecclestone, who already has three daughters from previous marriages, says he thinks his parenting skills will have improved with age.

He told the PA news agency: “I don’t see there’s any difference between being 89 and 29.

“You’ve got the same problems I suppose. It’s alright.”

Asked what kind of father he was going to be to his first son, he said: “We don’t know, probably better than before, probably a bit more relaxed!”

The British billionaire told Swiss newspaper Blick the baby was due in the summer.

Mother-to-be Flosi, who got engaged to Ecclestone when she was 35 after meeting him while working for the Brazilian Grand Prix, has said she hopes the baby has no interest in Formula One.

Eccleston’s eldest daughter Deborah, who he had with first wife Ivy Bamford, is now 65.

His daughters Tamara and Petra Ecclestone, who he had with second wife ex-model Slavica Radic, are now 35 and 31 respectively.

He said of the family’s response to the baby announcement: “Everybody is very pleased. They’re all happy.”

Both a grandfather and great grandfather, Ecclestone is due to celebrate his 90th birthday in October. – skynews.com
