Megafest honours Tendo Electronics MD
TENDO Electronics managing director, Mike Kamungeremu won the Director of the Year award at this year’s Megafest Northern Region Business Awards, held last week at Rainbow Towers Hotel in Harare.
The youthful businessman who is also the board chairman of Ramola Security said he felt honoured and humbled to be recognised among other business executives whom he said had made a mark in reviving the country’s economy.
“I am honoured to be recognised among other distinguished executives. I would like to thank all Tendo Electronics staff as you know team work makes the dream work. This award would not have been possible without their support and commitment,” Kamungeremu said.
He urged companies and businessman to be innovative and respond to the changing economic environment which was negatively affected by the coronaviruss pandemic. The awards honour the performance of entrepreneurs and top companies who play a pivotal role in the growth of the Zimbabwean economy. They also recognise and celebrate corporates and individuals that would have made outstanding progress in a challenging economic environment.
Megafest believes that the awards also offer companies an opportunity to learn from their competitors and demonstrate how organisations can stand out from the crowd. Kamungeremu is the current Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) vice president for Mashonaland. He was also the Harare Branch chairperson and ZNCC national finance committee chairperson for two years.
Kamurengeni is a qualified chartered management accountant (CIMA) and chartered global management accountant CGMA with a track record in private sector financial management, strategic management, corporate governance, taxation, turnaround strategies and administration.
He holds a Bachelor of Accountancy Honours degree from the University of Zimbabwe, a diploma in Financial Management (ACCA-UK), a Master of Business Administration degree and is a member of the Institute of Risk Management South Africa, and the Institute of Directors of Zimbabwe.
In recognition of his achievements with Tendo Electronics, he was honoured with the ZNCC Harare Businessman of the Year award in 2014 and Megafest Top 20 Businessmen of the Year award in 2015. Tendo Electronics is a total solutions provider that caters for all sectors of the economy, supplying, installing, servicing, and maintaining UPS, standby generators, inverters, CCTV and access control,.
The company is also into fire suppression, renewable energy equipment, air conditioning and other critical network infrastructure, including providing comprehensive infrastructure and energy management solutions.
