Now to ‘blowing the fuse’

Botswana’s Miss P, Alex (Ghana) and Weza (Angola) were sent packing after receiving the fewest country votes from Africa. Perhaps, Miss P’s revelation to the other ladies about her and Alex’s strategy seems to have cost the duo their places in the house, while the eviction of a third housemate came as a shock to viewers and housemates alike.
With less than three weeks to go, half of the housemates have now been evicted from the show which will see two housemates taking home US$200 000 each.
However, the “Blow the Fuse” prank invites an evicted housemate to “punish” any housemate of their choice with a task for the whole week.
First to be evicted this week was Miss P who “blew the fuse” at Mumba despite the crowd chanting Alex’s name.
“Mumba – I need Mumba to come out of the closet, so Mumba,” said Miss P.
According to the fuse, “one housemate must put on different clown faces every day of the week, this week. Make-up is available in the store room, which means this fuse commences almost immediately”. Alex, who was next to leave the Big Brother house, blew his fuse at Weza following the intense shouting from the crowd. The fuse requires her “to make all the other housemates’ beds every day for one week”. The fuse will last until Sunday.
In turn, Weza blew her fuse at Karen.
“Oh my gosh – Karen – the crowd chose you,” said Weza after some thought.
The fuse said she “must pack all their clothes and put them in the store room. That housemate must borrow clothes from every other housemate for the week”.
Meanwhile, during Monday morning’s nominations session, Bernadina, Lomwe, Vina, Wendall and Zeus gathered the most number of nominations.
Vimbai, as the head of house, went into the chat room and saved her countryman and love interest, Wendall, and put Mumba on the chopping block instead. This was a surprise move as it was expected she would spite Karen by putting her up for possible eviction.
Karen and Vimbai have been at loggerheads since Karen gave Wendall a back massage. Last Sunday morning, Vimbai told Karen to get away from her as she does not like her.
For two weeks since Housemates got reunited in one House, Vimbai has been nominating Karen; it is unexplainable why she would not take the opportunity to get rid of someone she does not like.
Vimbai had originally nominated Karen and Zeus. The five housemates facing eviction are therefore Bernadina, Lomwe, Vina, Mumba and Zeus.
Nibbles, as Wendall is affectionately known in the house, celebrated his 24th birthday on Monday. Housemates sang him a birthday song and offered him shots to down.
Once they had eaten and had a bit to drink, they took the party to the garden and popped more champagne. Wendall seemed to loosen up and was seen embracing and dancing with fellow housemates.
This is the fifth birthday party since the Amplified season began. Nkuli, Weza, Lomwe and Mumba had their birthdays in the house and Vimbai baked cake for both Lomwe and Weza.
Wendall’s party provided a much needed distraction for the tension that is usually associated with nominations.
