T Gonz: Enter new kid on the block

Not the least, the genre has surely become the in-thing for every self-respecting night spot. In other words, revellers will jump onto their feet once music by some of the local talent blurs from speakers hanging from walls.
You can talk of artists from multi-talented Cindy to the “acidic” Maskiri, from the creamy Expendables to the auspicious King Shaddy, all have made a name for themselves through a genre which is still somehow “green and alien” to many locals. Besides, this genre is mainly associated with the urbanites.
Following on the success of this genre, more and more youngsters particularly, are also joining the bandwagon and “doin’ their thang” as it were, hoping for similar success. And new to jump on board is T Gonz.
Born Tinashe Gonzara, T Gonz started singing in 2007 and has worked with young musicians who have made some successes such as Tererai Mugwadi, Maskiri, Ziggy Zee and Cindy.
T Gonz makes his entry with a singles release – a three-track release from a forthcoming album, Ngirozi. The singles are the title track, Ngirozi; Tichikuzivai (featuring Dr Clarence); and Tichatorasisa (ft. Tererai Mugwadi).
However, like many other up-and-coming artists, T Gonz decried the lack of airplay saying there is need for more radio stations.
The young artist is hopeful his singles will be successful as he said it is unique.
