DHL certified as Top Employer Global 2015
DHL Express, the world’s leading international express services provider, has been named as one of the first five companies in the world to be certified as a Top Employer Global 2015 and the only company to be certified in every continent around the world.
The Top Employers Global Certification is a program organized by the Top Employers Institute, designed to recognize employers that globally create the optimal conditions for their employees to develop, professionally and personally. Employers are increasingly harmonizing their development conditions on a global scale and the new certification program aims to accelerate the creation of optimal employee conditions for employees, wherever they work.
DHL Express CEO Ken Allen said “We are delighted to receive this recognition from Top Employers Institute, which underscores DHL’s dedication to creating outstanding employee conditions. As the world’s most international company, with over 80 000 employees in 220 countries and territories worldwide, we have invested considerably in motivating our global workforce. A wide range of initiatives, including staff appreciation weeks, our award-winning “Certified International Specialist” training and development platform and spectacular Employee of the Year events to reward our best performers have created a winning culture within DHL Express and helped to establish our company as an Employer of Choice for employees the world over.”
“It is such an honour to receive this recognition,” said Regine Buettner, Executive Vice President, HR Global & Europe, DHL Express. “At DHL Express it is our people who make us special for our customers. We are constantly driving towards our goal of being an Employer of Choice globally. Top Employer Institute vigorously reviews how we treat our people and their acknowledgment of DHL Express as a Top Employer globally takes us one step closer to this goal.”
Top Employers Institute’s CEO David Plink said: “DHL Express has been certified in all regions throughout the world and is a perfect example of a company that has harmonised its operations in a way which has not only benefited its employees but also its operational efficiency on a global scale.”
As part of the Top Employer Global 2015 process, DHL Express was certified as a Top Employer individually in 32 countries across all continents.
The Top Employers Institute annually conducts a survey of HR best practices around the world. Key areas include Leadership Development, Performance Management, Career & Succession Management, Compensation & Benefits, Workforce Planning, Talent Strategy, On-Boarding, Learning & Development and Culture. Hans Rothweiler, Top Employer Institute Member of the Board responsible for Certification, Research and Innovation said:
“Our global HR survey results have revealed that international companies are increasingly centralizing their operations. Aligning HR strategies on an international level, harmonising employee conditions and setting global standards in leadership are all necessary steps for a well aligned centralization process. Our Global Certification process recognizes companies like DHL Express, who strive for better conditions for their employees.”
