Afrosoft Holdings rebrands
INFORMATION and Communication Technology (ICT) solutions provider — Afrosoft Holdings has completed a rebranding exercise that involved the introduction of a new corporate identity. Acting board chairperson, Joe Mtizwa, said the company embarked on a rebranding exercise during the second half of this year with a view to reposition the brand and articulate a new vibrant image. It will make a better market presence, leveraging the various partnerships the business is building.
Afrosoft, has operations in Zimbabwe and East Africa. “We have myriad of relevant solutions which many companies, government and non-government actors alike need to take advantage of as they create world-class outfits on an increasingly competitive environment,” he said The company’s services are largely driven by intellectual property of highly qualified software engineers who deploy their knowledge and expertise to their clients.
“The company has developed numerous applications and systems for different enterprises and statutory bodies as well as fellow solutions providers who required specific solutions for their own customers. The company has grown and strengthened on the intellectual and professional capital of John Mberi and Kundiso Matanga who worked as software engineers in the financial services sector,” Mtizwa said.
Chairman of the e-government Implementation Programme and deputy chief secretary to the President and Cabinet, Ray Ndhlukula, officially unveiled the new look Afrosoft. He said the company was at the fore-front of creating an empowerment vehicle for all stakeholders, by the development of competitive and integrated world class information technology solutions distributed through global business synergies.
“Afrosoft has made bespoke solutions not only for the Zimbabwean market but for Africa where they have received continental accolades for their excellence in software provision with the prestigious African ICT Achievers, Top ICT Innovator,” he said.
The technology sector has gone through various changes, not least due to the huge impact that mobile telephony has had in communication and various other related applications. Its impact has been pervasive and has influenced the strategic thrust of the company in terms of the opportunities that have been created. The aggregation have intensified around mobile technology and payments hence the company has had to align itself with players and stakeholders on this value chain.
Afrosoft has over the last 14 years amassed extensive practical knowledge and experience in software development whilst concurrently building a formidable operating base and capacity in related project work. Afrosoft Holdings is a technology aggregation company which is strong in software development, research, engineering and distribution of software solutions.
It was established in April 1999 by a consortium of business people from the banking and allied industries as a research project. Meanwhile, Zimbabwe’s, largest mobile telecommunication company by earnings and subscribers, Econet Wireless Zimbabwe this week selected Ericsson as the sole supplier of its core network upgrade programme.
The deal will see the companies working together to simplify and upgrade the existing 2G/3G/4G/LTE networks, future proofing it for rapid mobile expansion in the country. This collaboration will allow Econet’s customers faster and more reliable mobile services and reduce time-to-market for new attractive services.
