Alexis Sanchez insists he remained 100 percent committed to Arsenal, “until the last day”
ALEXIS Sanchez has insisted he always gave his all for Arsenal following his move to Manchester United on Monday.
The Chile international was snapped up by the Gunners from Barcelona for £30m in 2014 but brought an end to his stay in north London after signing a four-and-a-half-year deal at Old Trafford this week.
Suggestions have since been made that Sanchez’s mind had already left for Manchester at the turn of the year but the forward insists his commitment cannot be doubted.
“There are people (former club players) who have spoken with no knowledge of what happens inside the club and cause damage,” he wrote on Twitter.
“I must say I always gave 100 per cent, until the last day, when I asked to the Mister (Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger) to be in the team, because I wanted to be a contribution.”
Sanchez’s Arsenal exit was somewhat cushioned by the arrival of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who joined the Gunners from United in a swap deal. – kickoff.com
