All set for NAMA night

The nominees for the seven categories to be awarded — visual arts, dance, literary arts, theatre, film and television, music and media — have already been announced. Sixty-three nominees were announced recently and only 31 artistes will walk away with the coveted NAMA trophy.
However, there will also be special awards — Arts Personality Award, Arts Service Award and the People’s Choice Award — in the different arts sectors.
Members of the public can vote online through visiting the zimbojam website on www.zimbojam.com. The public can also cast a vote by choosing a nominee of their choice by sending an SMS to 100. Using this short code one types NAMA (space) Category (space) Artist then send to 100. This facility is open to all network and the results will be announced during the awards night.
The chairperson of the adjudication panel, Dudu Manhenga, said the adjudication process took more time than some previous years because of the increased number of entries in some disciplines as well as the need to verify certain products especially in visual and that the adjudicators had to travel to physically inspect and assess the entered products.
