HARARE premiership giants Dynamos and CAPS United are set to lose key players with reports suggesting the Amidu brothers Brett and Abbas impressed Germany’s lower division side SSv Ulm 1846 fussball during a two week trial stint recently.

Brett- a midfielder blessed with creativity has missed Dynamos’ last two league matches while on trials but returned from Germany on Sunday while his brother Abbas who plays for rivals Caps United where he is one of the key players was expected in the country yesterday.

The players’ handler George Deda said yesterday the reports that came from Germany was that both players had impressed with the club saying they would start to open negotiations with the players’ respective clubs.

“Brett arrived in the country on Sunday and Abbas should be arriving today. The reports we got from Germany is that they did well during their trials and they were impressed and want to open negotiations soon. Initially they were supposed to be going for a one week trial but the club asked to have the trials extended by a week so that they could have a proper assessment of the players. So they have been there for two weeks. We are now just waiting to hear from them,” said Deda.

Should, the players secure deals with the Germany club, it would be a blow for Dynamos and Caps United’s title bids.

Caps United are in a very strong position to win the championship for the first time since they won back to back league titles in 2004 and 2005. They are in third place and one point behind league pacesetters Highlanders and second placed FC Platinum. Dynamos are also back in the championship matrix and are in fourth position and five points off the pace and both teams would need all their best players as the championship race enters the decisive second round.

Abbas signed a one-year deal for Caps United at the beginning of the season after making a return to the local Premiership after four years playing outside the country. He had been earmarked to join rivals Dynamos but Caps United beat them to his signature.
He left the country in 2012 when he joined Kaizer Chiefs before he was released to Black Leopards.

Last year, Amidu then joined United Arab Emirates Division One club Masafi on a two-year contract.
