FOR Astro’s Munyaradzi Gwatidzo, Technology is not a priviledge but a right to Zimbabweans.

Gwatidzo is the Chief Executive Officer of Award winning Zimbabwean mobile phone brand and tech distribution company which recently unveiled the Slide series, its new range of mobile devices that is meant to lead Astro’s redefined focus for the market.

Apart from the popular ‘Play store’ designed by the west, Gwatidzo has promised to change the lives of all Zimbabwean\African Tech students who are into developing mobile Applications.

He said the Slide series, which is a new range of mobile devices was meant to lead Astro’s redefined focus for the market.

Amongst these devices is an Astro Slide Note, a phablet that comes with a smartwatch. This is the device that was described as the best phone been designed by the company.

“This Astro Slide Note is the best brand we have done so far it has an in built App Store called the ‘Mobi store app, which we designed for all our tech Students in Africa who are into developing applications,” said Gwatidzo.

The devices are now available for pre-orders, and will be distributed countrywide by mid-December.

“This is a dedicated application store that will cater for other Zimbabwean applications, By this we are helping people to commercialise their skills in designing applications that they and also in the creation of jobs,”

“Africa should just not rely on foreign made applications,” he added.

Gwatidzo has promised to solve the Zimbabwean mobile solutions by producing devices basing on people’s concerns.

“We are making products that come with your concerns, we use what you tell us to design what you want,” he added.

According to Gwatidzo Astro is in the process of designing a great smartphone experience for a limited budget, Taking into consideration the Zimbabwean economic situation and also an affordable range for its consumers situation into consideration Zimbabwean consumers, there by making people’s lives better.

Astro unveiled five Astro Slide devices, with prices ranging from $99 for the new Astro entry level Slide S4.5, up to $499 for the Astro Slide Note, a phablet that comes with a smartwatch.

The devices are now available for pre-orders, and will be distributed countrywide by mid-December.
