Autoworld’s D-Max brand lights up ZITF
AUTOWORLD has reaffirmed it’s commitment to supporting the Isuzu brand in Zimbabwe and providing world class services to its customers by launching the Isuzu global D-Max brand at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF).
This comes as there has been a lot of significant but progressive changes in the structure of Isuzu’s presence in Africa.
As of January 2018, Isuzu took control of the production and distribution of it’s light commercial vehicles in sub-Saharan Africa.
“This was a mammoth task that came with a lot of positive changes. I must commend our principles, Isuzu Motors South Africa for carrying out this transition and thank them for their unwavering support,” said Autoworld, Business Development Manager, Piet de Klerk said
It is with these changes that the Isuzu brand in Africa will now be aligned with broader global brand identity of Isuzu Motors Limited.
“This brings us to the launch of the Isuzu D-Max in Zimbabwe. As we start this new chapter, we say goodbye to the KB range of bakkies that we had grown to love in Zimbabwe and hello to the Isuzu DMax,” said de Klerk.
Although the name has changed, the qualities that have gone into Isuzu bakkies remains the same.
“We will continue to provide maximum durability, maximum reliability and maximum capability. We have changed our name, not our stripes. Along with the change of name, we have also seen some upgrades to the vehicle,” he said.
The D-Max comes with a bolder front grill, bi-LED headlamps and a more plush cabin interior. The biggest change is the introduction of a new six speed gearbox, in both manual and automatic which increases the fuel efficiency.
There are also a few upgrades and extra options on the infotainment system which all adds up to a more pleasurable driving experience.
“We are with you for the long run,” de Klerk said.
The exterior design of the D-Max is largely unchanged since the introduction of the current-generation version in 2012. But it was handsome then, and its appearance has stood the test of time pretty well.
There have been minute appearance adjustments but it’s nigh-on impossible to pick the differences between a D-Max from 2012 and the one on sale in 2019.
You could see that as both positive because earlier models aren’t easily discernible, or negative because some of its contemporaries look, well, more contemporary.
