CAPS deregister Zvirekwi, ropes in Machapa
CAPS United Football Club has requested the Premier Soccer League to deregister their Captain Hardlife Zvirekwi after the defender lost the lower part of his arm to an accident.
Zvirekwi was involved in a horrific car accident in the early hours of Monday. The accident claimed one of his lower parts of the hand. The latest development came after the doctor amputated the Warriors players hand. In a bid to consolidate their 2018 squad the Green Machine swiftly responded to the situation by informing the PSL of their move to deregister the injured player with Machapa, a player they had dumped.
Speaking to this publication, the PSL confirmed that the 2016 Champions have requested to replace the player. “We received a letter from them (Caps) requesting the deregistration of Hardlife (Zvirekwi) and we did just that,” said an official within the PSL ranks.
Machapa had a fall out with the club’s technical team a week ago leading to a temporary divorce between the two parties. However, following the unfortunate event, the Green Machine technical team has pardoned the former AS Vita player and readmitted him into the Caps family. United will square off with Harare City on Sunday at the National Sports Stadium in their 2018 PSL opener.
Meanwhile, Zvirekwi is expected to bounce back to football matters after July and maybe available for selection then after. – sportbrief.co.zw
