Check Out Which Mobile Network Offers The Best Voice Calling Bundles
Bundles are synonymous with the realm of data- data bundles. But our dear Mobile Network Operators (MNO) did us a favour by also giving use voice calling data bundles. Since MNOs repackaged their voice bundles recently, you must know which of them is offering more minutes for your money.
Daily Voice Bundles
Mobile Network Operator | Price | Any network minutes | On-net minutes |
---|---|---|---|
Econet | RTGS $1 | – | 8.50 |
Netone (1) | RTGS $1 | 8 | ** |
Telecel | RTGS $1 | 10 | ** |
Netone (2) | RTGS $0.50 | 3 | ** |
Note
- ‘Any network’ minutes means that you can call on any network for those number of minutes.
- On-net minutes means that you can only call on that network for those number of minutes.
- Asterisks (**) mean that you can call on any network and on that network with the same number of minutes.
NB:This key applies to all the tables
It’s sad that Econet’s daily voice bundles( actually called Bundles of Joy) are only for calling its network whilst with Telecel’s (simply called voive bundles) or Netone’s voice bundle (actually called Khuluma 24/7) you can call any network. That alone, put’s Econet the 3rd place. Netone is in second place with 8 or 3 minutes (depending on whether you bought which package). Telecel leads the pack with more minutes than anyone- you get 10 minutes for your dollar.
2-Day Voice Bundles
Mobile Network Operator | Price | Any network minutes | On-net minutes |
---|---|---|---|
Econet | RTGS $2 | 1 | 17 |
Netone (1) | RTGS $2 | 18 | ** |
Telecel | RTGS $2 | 20 | ** |
Here Econet allows you to call any network (including itself) with its 2-day voice bundle. Alas, Econet’ 1 minute for calling all networks is still too little relative to others.
Telecel again offers more than everyone with 20 minutes than Netone which gives you 18 minutes.
3-Day Voice Bundles
Mobile Network Operator | Price | Any network minutes | On-net minutes |
---|---|---|---|
Econet | RTGS $5 | 5 | 42.50 |
Netone | RTGS $3 | 28 | ** |
Telecel | RTGS $5 | 50 | ** |
Telecel outshines everyone by a great margin. Although Telecel’s bundle cost RTGS $2 more than Netone’s, when you calculate the minutes you get per dollar (divide ‘any network’ minutes by the price) Netone offers 2 minutes more than Telecel.
Econet only offers 5 minutes to give a call to your friends on other networks but you can enjoy so much for calling on its network. If you just want to call people on Econet only then I guess it’s not too bad to use Econet for a 3-day voice bundle.
5-Day Voice Bundles
Mobile Network Operator | Price | Any network minutes | On-net Minutes |
---|---|---|---|
Econet | RTGS $20 | 20 | 175 |
Netone | RTGS $5 | 50 | ** |
Telecel | RTGS $10 | 100 | ** |
Telecel’s 100 ‘any network minutes’ for RTGS $ 10 and Netone’s 50 ‘any network minutes’ for RTGS $5 land them both on the first place. If you calculate the minutes you get per dollar (divide ‘any network minutes’ by the price), both Netone and Telecel are giving you 10 minutes per dollar. So they are giving you the same value.
However, Netone is a notch higher that Telecel simply because it’s cheaper to access their 5-day voice bundle- it’s going for RTGS $5 whereas Telecel’s is RTGS $10.
Econet still offers less that everyone but as the previous cases, the few ‘any network minutes’ are compensated with the one-net minutes it offers.
Conclusion
For users who want to call any network, it’s evident that Telecel should be the prefered network to use on every different level. To some, the above comparison(s) may seem unfair because Econet prefers its voice bundles to be used on its network than on other networks that’s why it allocates more minutes on calling its network. It’s Econet’s way of telling you that you should come aboard to enjoy more.
