Civil servants to get instant loans via WhatsApp

FAST-growing microfinance firm, WildFin on Wednesday announced its latest feature that will offer instant credit lines for all civil servants on WhatsApp.

This comes after the microfinance firm recently launched a locally developed instant personal loan application – WildFin Smart Loan App, which offers a convenient and hassle-free way for civil servants to borrow money on the go.

The WildFin Smart Loan App, which can be supported by most smartphones, enables users to apply for personal loans, receive quick approvals, and disburse funds directly into their bank accounts.

Apart from that, the new fintech also allows customers to buy home furniture, electric gadgets, laptops, and other valuables online through convenient terms.

In the new development to ease the burden for civil servants in accessing loans, the company said it will be using its WhatsApp chatbot to offer these pre-approved lines of credit that already exist.

WildFin claims to be the first fintech financial institution in Zimbabwe to offer instant credit lines to civil servants without the need for civil servants visiting the office.

Users can simply avail these loans by messaging ‘Hi’ on WildFin’s WhatsApp number +263 77 891 1225 and follow all steps to submit their application.

The services are available 24/7 for all civil servants and cash approval and disbursements are done in less than 24 hours, the company has emphasized.

In an interview founder and Ceo David Mantiziba who recently got an award from ICDZ, said: “We believe in finding innovative ways to fasten service delivery to our customers. Our clients encounter emergencies and they are not always comfortable coming to our offices to get our loan facilities. So, we have to take that into consideration. WhatsApp chatbot will bring us closer to our vision of achieving financial inclusion as we realize most of our clients are more comfortable using WhatsApp to do business and get any financial service.

Mantiziba said the new application offers flexibility in choosing the loan amount and tenure that suits different customer needs.

“Whether you require a small loan for a short-term emergency or a larger sum for a longer duration, this WhatsApp chatbot can cater to a wide range of borrowing needs to fit your financial situation,” he further said.
