Cristiano Ronaldo dismisses ‘Penaldo’ nickname
REAL Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo says statistics show there is no substance to his unwelcome nickname ‘Penaldo’.
The Ballon d’Or holder plundered four goals in the club’s 8-0 win over Malmo in the UEFA Champions League at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday night.
When asked about the Penaldo moniker afterwards, Ronaldo said: “You have to look at the statistics.
“How many goals have I scored for Real Madrid? And they are not all penalties.”
The Portuguese bolstered his Real tally to 334 goals in 320 games for the Spanish giants since his arrival from Manchester United in 2009, and 61 of those goals have been from the penalty spot.
He added: “I will score as many as I can. 600, 700 – as many as I can. They will all be there for people to see.
“And anyone who wants to can go to YouTube to see all the goals I have scored…” Kickoff.com
