ECONET Wireless Zimbabwe has launched Prestige Vehicle Management (PVM), a car tracking and monitoring solution which allows customers to track, and monitor their vehicles on-the-go from their smartphones, laptops or desktops.

The service comes at a convenient time when controlling vehicle related expenses, such as fuel usage and maintenance costs has become a top priority for individuals and companies in Zimbabwe. PVM also comes in handy in cases of vehicle theft which are increasingly being reported in the country.
The launch of Prestige Vehicle Management adds to a suite of innovative products that Econet has launched in recent months, among them Econet ConnectedHome which allows customers to remotely monitor their homes 24/7 via their mobile devices and EcoCash Ta!, a contactless payment feature which allows customers to experience shopping convenience by tapping specially coded stickers linked to their EcoCash wallets.
Econet Wireless chief executive officer Douglas Mboweni said: “We have introduced Prestige Vehicle Management (PVM) as an affordable solution for our customers to monitor usage of their vehicles in real time, set geographical boundaries and track fuel consumption whilst enjoying a cup of coffee in the comfort of their offices, homes or on-the-go. Fleet owners can also receive instant alerts on drivers’ behaviour such as speeding, reckless driving as well as trip reports, resulting in huge saving on fuel and other vehicle operational costs”
Econet Wireless chief operating officer,  Fayaz King said: “We are indeed excited with the launch of Prestige Vehicle Management (PVM), a streamlined variant of the Fleet Management Service (FMS) product mainly directed at individuals, owners of corporate light motor vehicles and SMEs. PVM brings to two products in the ConnectedCar range where we are already offering Fleet Management Service (FMS). We are open for business and invite all our current and potential customers to visit any of our shops. The investment is a once off installation fee of US$25 and US$12 subscriptions per month. We believe this is value for money considering the value attached to our assets.”
