Dani Alves snubbed Pep Guardiola for PSG
DANI ALVES was persuaded to snub his old boss Pep Guardiola by a whopping £12million-a-year contract at Paris Saint-Germain.
The 34-year-old right-back will today sign a two year deal with the French giants after an amazing last minute U-turn.
The £230,000-a-week offer was almost double what City were ready to pay him when Alves verbally agreed to join them last month.
And in the end Guardiola was unwilling to match terms which would have put him in the top few earners at the club.
The eleventh hour hijack came as a shock to City who had made plans for him to be on their tour to USA which leaves on Monday.
They had allowed him to enjoy his holidays rather than bringing him over to Manchester to complete a medical – but expected him this week.
And the first they knew of PSG’s attempts to nick him was when they heard the reports coming from France.
While the Etihad chief is disappointed, his old Nou Camp favourite was not coming as his first choice right-back anyway.
