Emmanuel Eboue yearning for a return to Arsenal
IVORY Coast defender Emmanuel Eboue says he would love to return to the Premier League and re-unite with former club Arsenal.
The 32-year-old amassed over 200 appearances for the Gunners in a six-year spell from 2005 to 2011, before leaving to join Turkish outfit Galatasaray.
A regular in his first three seasons in Turkey, Eboue helped his club win three League titles and the Turkish Cup, yet found himself out of favour last season, playing the entire campaign with the Under-21 side after being told by management that he would not be playing for the first team.
“I came back for training and I was told I would not be playing,” Eboue was quoted as saying in The Sun.
“The president told the manager at the time not to pick me. The way I was treated was very unfair.”
Having now cut ties with the Turkish giants, Eboue is on the lookout for a new club, and would like nothing more than teaming up with his former side.
“We are looking for options and I would love to come back to Arsenal,” he said.
Meanwhile, 29-year-old Arsenal left-back Nacho Monreal has been rewarded for his fine form with a contract extension.
Arsenal, who currently top the Premier league standings, face off against Chelsea in their next EPL encounter on Sunday. kickoff.com
