IN -demand Martzburg United striker Evans Rusike says he would love to play alongside Willard Katsande at Kaizer Chiefs.

The Zimbabwean is hot property at the moment, having scored the two goals against Jomo Cosmos that kept the Team of Choice in the top-flight.

Maritzburg chairman Farook Kadodia has already indicated that a few clubs are chasing Rusike, and the player himself admits saying he is ready to move on.

”I’m always and forever ready,” he says. added “Katsande is my national team captain and I would love to play with him. I’m happy at Maritzburg and whatever comes will come, but I’m happy here.”

Rusike admits Katsande played a big role in helping him settle into the PSL.

“I asked Katsande [about the PSL] and he said ‘it’s not much different, you will love it and once you get goals you will see’.

‘’It is the only thing I heard from Katsande and I said to myself ‘I will work hard’. The first four months were tough and no-one knows you, but the game against Tuks [when he scored the winner in November] changed everything for me to settled.”

Rusike is part of a strong Zimbabwean side that will play an AFCON qualifier this weekend. The squd also includes Onismor Bhasera, Khama Billiat, Tendai Ndoro, Katsande, Kudakwashe Mahachi and Cuthbert Malajila. Kickoff.com
