Invictus embarks on 2nd exploration well
INVICTUS Energy says it will spend about US$25 million on its second exploration well, Mukuyu-2.
The company — exploring for gas and oil in the Muzarabani basin in the Cahora Bassa region — closed the first well, Mukuyu-1, after equipment failure.
Barry Meikle, country manager for Invictus Energy, told The Financial Gazette on the sidelines of a media day and rig tour that the company would start drilling about 4 000 metres below the surface in a week’s time.
“It will take about 50 to 60 days that we have given for this job. We should be done by then; that’s when we are going to expect results,” he said.
