Joshua’s success strategy

Joshua succeeded Moses as the leader of God’s people in a very critical moment in the history of Israel. Knowing how great a leader Moses was, and also knowing how he had failed at the last minute to bring the children of Israel into Canaan, must have made Joshua very hesitant and fearful. He felt he did not have the qualities and abilities to accomplish such a huge task.
However, God, whose power is made perfect in our weakness, assured Joshua that he was the right candidate only he must be stro-ng and of good courage.
He revealed to him the success strategy he required in such a crisis moment – meditation on God’s word. Joshua empl-oyed that strategy and he succeeded. David used the same strategy and became the greatest king of Israel. Later on apostle Paul used the same strategy and his success speaks for itself in the New Testament epistles. Today, you can succeed the same way.
Are you fearful or worried about the outcome of a certain event or situation? You can overcome the fear and worry by meditating on the relevant scriptures. Meditation soaks and saturates your spirit with faith, hope and confidence.
It chases fear, worry and anxiety away from your mind. This is the reason why true prosperity and good success of a child of God are closely connected to meditation. But do you really know what Biblical meditation is all about? It has nothing to do with the mysticism of contemplating about yourself being a channel of spirits that enable you to do the impossible.
The best definition of scriptural meditation I have ever come across was in the book entitled Cover to Cover, God’s people. According to the authors, Selwyn Hughes and Trevor J Partridge, scripture meditation is the digestive system of the soul, and is of vital importance to spiritual development. It is the process by which we apply, absorb and internalise truth as a working principle into our daily lives. This process of internalising truth is accomplished by rolling a word, thought or phrase around in the mind, continually contemplating, pondering and dwelling upon it, viewing it from every angle, weighing it, and considering it carefully.
Meditating on a thought, word or phrase from scripture over and over again normally leads to talking to yourself about the matter. Musing allows the word of God to penetrate, permeate and saturate your thinking.
The final end of meditation is revelation of the right solution. You receive a rhema word from God; a specific instruction on what to do and how to do it. And it is this revelation of what exactly to do and how exactly to do it in a given crisis situation that brings prosperity and good success.
In my own opinion, spending quality time meditating on scriptures is like a forester spending time sharpening his axe. With the razor-sharp axe, the job is done efficiently and in little time.
Likewise, meditation so clarifies your mind and purifies your vision that the       right action that brings the required results will be taken with much ease and without errors.
Meditation reduces activity in your life and increases productivity. And that means prosperity and good success. If you wish to raise your success level then the key is more meditation.
