Kevin De Bruyne feels Manchester City can win this year’s Uefa Champions League
Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne feels his side are on course to lift their maiden Champions League title this year.
The Citizens progressed to the last eight of the competition with a comfortable 3-1 aggregate win over Dynamo Kiev in the Round of 16, and De Bruyne, who marked his return from injury with a well-taken goal against Bournemouth on the weekend, feels the English outfit are definitely in with a chance.
“It’s a tournament, so you never know,” the Belgian said. “If the team plays at its best then we always have a chance.
“If you want to win it then you have to win against the big teams also.”
City have been paired against French champions Paris Saint-Germain, who have lost just once at home in their last 25 matches, yet De Bryune is quietly confident of a positive result ahead of the first leg in Paris on Wednesday evening.
“Everyone maybe has a different view because if you get a 0-0 over there it can also be good,” he said.
“I think our team always creates chances, I think we are not a defensive team, so I don’t think that’s the main issue. We’ll see what happens.” KickOff.com
