Love & Laughter – The Best of Both Worlds
IT is the season to be loving, at least that’s what all the Valentine’s posters will have you believe. In this leap year, the season of love will be marked with a difference as the Old Mutual Theatre at Alliance Francais hosts Andrew Manyika’s: Love & Laughter – a stand-up comedy and performance poetry special which will see insightful wit and charming wordplay taking the audience on a whimsical journey, poking fun and marvelling at some of the many facets of love and relationships.
Manyika is a distinguished poet and comedian who began his career on the highly competitive stages of Johannesburg, South Africa when he won the Gauteng leg of the Drama for Life Poetry Competition 2011. Since then, he has graced stages including HIFA; Shoko & WordNSound Festival’s where he has shared stages with the crème de la crème of comics and poets in Zimbabwe and across the globe. He is now poised to paint the town red with his own brand of rhyme and humour at the Old Mutual Theatre on the 13th of February, in a one-night only comedy and poetry extravaganza.
