Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho warned about Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s temperament
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been warned to be wary of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s temperament if the striker is not given the chance to be the main man at Old Trafford this season.
Ibrahimovic has already made a promising start at United with two goals in pre-season following his move from Paris Saint-Germain.
A former Sweden teammate, Pontus Kamark, knows the striker well having spent time with Ibrahimovic when he broke into the national side.
He says Red Devils fans can expect either fireworks or success from the 34-year-old depending on how well his temperament is managed by Mourinho.
Kamark told MirrorSport: “He has been in all kinds of arguments. He called even Pep Guardiola (at Barcelona) ‘The Philosopher’ because (Lionel) Messi felt threatened about his superiority and Zlatan doesn’t want to be number two.”
The ex-Leicester City player added: “If someone comes in his way, he fights them. He can kick you down in training. He does whatever it takes to be on the throne.
“That can be for good and for bad – especially if someone doesn’t accept that. He always finds something because he can never be second best – Zlatan has to be number one.”
The striker, who has scored close to 450 goals in a glittering career, joined United on a deal said to be worth £200,000-a-week. Kickoff.com
