Manyeruke castigates raunchy dancing

POPULAR Gospel musician Mechanic Manyeruke has taken a dig at raunchy dancing artists urging them to practice their acts in bedrooms instead.Manyeruke who has a rich discography that started in the 90s is highly regarded as the granddad of gospel music in Zimbabwe made the remarks during the launch of Evidence Hungwe’s debut album Zvaikaitwa Nashe.
Praising Orchestra Dendera Kings faction led by Alan Chimbetu, who were the supporting act, Manyeruke said real musicians dance decently and actually bless their audiences with their dancing routines.
“You see these guys Orchestra Dendera Kings their dancing routine is a blessing, I was actually blessed when they were dancing and not the other kind of dancing being done by others that will make you think you are in the bedroom.
“Let us do our bedroom acts in the bedroom and on the stage we dance decently,” said Manyeruke.
In recent years Zimbabwe has witnessed the emergence of raunchy dancing groups that have taken clubs and hotels by storm.
Beverly Sibanda and her Sex angels, Zoey Zifelani and her Red Angels, Heather and La dolce have become popular in Harare night clubs while Ambuya Shakira is said to be causing tongue wagging in the resort town of Victoria Falls.
Ironically, Guspy Warrior who is son to Manyeruke has released a video for his chart topping song Seunononga which features Lady Squanda.
Turning to Hungwe’s album the seasoned gospel artist congratulated her for recording the album despite the difficulties being faced in the music industry especially by new musicians.
Manyeruke however, urged other upcoming artist not to rush into releasing their albums before listening to them first.
In an interview Evidence Hungwe said her eight track album Zvakaitwa Nashe is a result of her calling from God, who has given her the voice and talent to play musical instruments.
