Tavengwa Mukuhlani has been re-elected as Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) board chairman for another term.

He was unanimously voted in for his second four-year term during ZC’s elective annual general meeting (AGM) held in Victoria Falls on Friday.

Sylvester Matshaka has been retained as Mukuhlani’s deputy.

Among the five new faces on the 13-member board is former Zimbabwe international cricketer Edward Rainsford.

In line with the ZC constitution, the 10 provincial cricket associations gathered as an electoral college and first elected seven members of the board from among themselves.

The seven provinces who made it onto the ZC board are: Tafadzwa Madoro (Harare Metropolitan), Godwin Dube (Bulawayo Metropolitan), Ronald Chibwe (Mashonaland West), Godfrey Nyadongo (Manicaland), Fiona Ndlovu (Matabeleland North), Arthur Maposa (Matabeleland South) and Bornface Machuwaire (Masvingo).

The provinces then elected onto the board six people chosen on the basis of their specialist skills: Mukuhlani, Matshaka, Rainsford, Lincoln Bhila, Maureen Kuchocha and Lloyd Mhishi.

Afterwards, the new board members met in accordance with the ZC constitution and elected a chairman and deputy from among themselves.

Apart from Rainsford, the other new members of the board are Mhishi, Madoro, Dube and Nyadongo. – zimcricket
