New Ambassador Hotel new entertainment hub for Harare

New Ambassador Hotel is set to become one of Harare’s entertainment hot spots.

THE central business district skies were set alive on Saturday night on the New Ambassador hotel roof top.
The hotel which falls under the Rainbow Tourism Group, entered into a collaboration with the Book Café, which was the home for live artist performances cutting across drama, poetry, art and music.
Operating under the name “Pop – Up” Book Café, the concept is built around the reactivation of the Book Café at different venues across the city with the usual exhilarating live music and poetry performances.
The inaugural event featured Transit Crew, Jam signal and Chirikure Chirikure did not disappoint with his expressive poetry. The profile of revellers cut across racial and cultural divide as the artists set the Roof Top ablaze.
Mokoomba – the leading afro-jazz band in Zimbabwe who were also scheduled to perform could not make it after they were involved in an accident on the same day.
“We are positioning the New Ambassador Hotel as the ultimate place for entertainment and relaxation”, said the hotel’s recently appointed General Manager Hugh Mandizha.
“We are opening an additional bar in December. What makes it unique is the exclusive private lounge which will have specialised waiter service, making it ideal for the mature executives who want to unwind after a long working week “, he said.

Ringo Madlingozi expected to perform at New Ambassador hotel roof top.

This latest innovation has seen the once disused second floor roof top converted into a venue which caters for an array of different events. Besides the live entertainment, the venue is also suitable for weddings and banqueting, with a seating capacity of 300 guests, including adequate space for a dance floor, live band entertainment and food serving points.
The launch of the roof top was strategically timed for the Christmas season, making it the perfect venue for end of year cocktail parties, with a capacity to accommodate 450 guests. New Ambassador Hotel is popular with conferencing business, and the Roof Top becomes an alternative venue for clients looking for a different open air conferencing experience.
Asked what revellers can look forward to “Entertainment will not be limited to the local artists alone, as we have some South African artists lined up including Ringo Madlingozi, and Donald who is hot at the moment with South African house music. Local artists set to perform include Jah Prayzah, Oliver Mtukudzi and Sulumani Chimbetu. We are catering for all musical tastes”.
