‘Neymar showboating annoys opponents’

Neymar’s ‘annoying’ dribbling benefits Paris Saint-Germain according to Thomas Meunier

Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar’s ‘annoying dribbling’ is always used to the side’s advantage – according to one of his teammates.

Neymar, 26, has been accused of damaging his reputation following his diving antics during the 2018 FIFA World Cup – where he failed to inspire Brazil to glory.

However, the world-record signing for PSG has started the Ligue 1 season in sublime form with five goals and two assists in his opening six games.

His new role in the number 10 position under Thomas Tuchel has drawn plenty of plaudits and teammate Thomas Meunier admits he has sympathy with defenders facing Neymar’s flicks and tricks.

“He is a frustrating player for opponents. He can stop suddenly with the ball and it makes it too much sometimes,” the Belgium international told reporters, as quoted by AS.

“It’s quite annoying, I can understand it. Also, it’s an advantage for us. Two or three players have been booked because of him.

“Then they have to control themselves and Ney can benefit from that. He knows how to be a bit sneaky.

“It’s good for us and he does it really well.” – kickoff.com
