Phone absorbed force of bullet

A MAN claims his smartphone saved his life by deflecting a bullet during the terrorist attack in Paris last night.

He says his head would have been “blown to bits” if it wasn’t for his trusty Samsung absorbing the impact of the bullet.

Speaking to French news station iTele moments after the attack, he said: “This is the cell phone that took the hit, it’s what saved me. Otherwise my head would have been blown to bits. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.”

He also showed the camera where a bullet had grazed his ribcage and said he had also been shot in the foot.

The man, only known as Sylvestre, was at the Stade de France watching Les Bleus take on Germany in a friendly international football match.

Two suicide attacks and a bombing took place outside the stadium and ten people are believed to be either dead or injured.
