Playboy Mansion Goes Up for Sale for $200 Million — But Hugh Hefner Isn’t Moving Out
WANT the keys to the Playboy Mansion? They could be yours for a cool US$200 million! That’s right, the iconic home of Hugh Hefner and his Playmates is officially on the market, The Agency and Hilton & Hyland, which includes Kyle Richards’ husband, Mauricio Umansky, confirmed to Us Weekly in a release.
“This is the right time to seek a buyer for this incredible property who understands the role the Mansion has played for our brand and enables us to continue to reinvest in the transformation of our business,” said Playboy Enterprises CEO Scott Flanders in a statement. “The Playboy Mansion has been a creative center for Hef as his residence and workplace for the past 40 years, as it will continue to be if the property is sold.”
This means that if you want to purchase the Playboy Mansion, it comes with an extra feisty addition — 89-year-old Hefner himself. Hef will continue to reside in the 29-room residence, even though it will be under new ownership.
The Playboy Mansion is a 20,000-square-foot residence that features a home theater, catering kitchen, wine cellar, separate game house, gym, tennis court and swimming pool. It also includes a cavelike grotto that is often featured in the Mansion’s famous parties.
At the time Hef and Playboy purchased the home, it was the largest real estate transaction in Los Angeles history,” agent Gary Gold added in the release. “Today, we hope to make the same history with the property and its sprawling acreage, neighboring the Los Angeles Country Club.”USAtoday.com
