Radamel Falcao in match-fixing allegation
COLOMBIA striker Radamel Falcao has admitted to discussing the permutations of drawing with Peru with their players during their final 2018 World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.
The forward has received plenty of criticism after Peru midfielder Renato Tapia admitted he was told by Falcao in the final minutes of the match that a draw would suit both parties, and that they should hold on for the 1-1 scoreline.

The game ended as such, with Colombia qualifying for the 2018 Russia finals while Peru are into the playoffs, where they take on New Zealand.
The Monaco striker has since admitted to broaching the discussion with Tapia, saying: “We knew what was happening in the other matches, we were playing with [the knowledge of] the other results and in that moment [I tried] to transmit that [to Peru].”
It remains to be seen what action, if any, will be taken by FIFA, with claims of pre-tournament match-fixing tarnishing the already-soiled image surrounding Russia’s staging of the World Cup finals. – kickoff.com
