Ramaphosa urges citizens to register for 2019 elections
SOUTH Africa’s President, Cyril Ramaphosa has called on South Africans, young and old, to visit their voting stations to register for the 2019 elections.
This follows the IEC’s appeal to all eligible voters to check their status at voting stations over the weekend of 10 and 11 March 2018.
The date for the 2019 elections has not yet been announced.
But it hasn’t stopped Ramaphosa from urging everyone to register. The President and the IEC have especially targeted young people.
Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission has revealed that it still doesn’t have addresses for 2.8 million voters.
A further 3.5 million addresses are currently classified as incomplete or generic.
All voting stations will be opened over the coming weekend for voters to check and update their status. – sabcnews.com
