Spice Girl hints at possible reunion
EMMA Bunton has hinted that there might be a Spice Girls reunion, saying it would “a shame” if the group did not get back together.
The singer, who during the band’s heyday was known as Baby Spice, said it would have to happen soon as they are all “getting on a bit”.
The 41-year-old told Fabulous magazine: “It’s about finding the perfect time. We want to make it right for our fans.
“But it would be a shame not to do something.
“We’re always talking about it.
“I think it would be amazing, so I’m on the case and Geri’s the same.”
The group sold more than 85 million albums worldwide and had nine UK number one singles – including Wannabe, Spice Up Your Life and Goodbye.
They last appeared together at the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics.
Bunton said: “It would be lovely to show us performing to a whole new generation.
“But we can’t wait too much longer, as we’re all getting on a bit!”.
Last year Bunton teamed up with former bandmates Melanie Brown and Geri Horner to record new songs under the name GEM.
Melanie Chisolm and Victoria Beckham were not involved in the project.
In 2012 a West End musical was made based on Spice Girls songs. But Viva Forever closed after just seven months having received poor reviews. – news.sky.com
