The M-Net Movies Fast & Furious Pop-Up Channel Drifts Back to DStv by Popular Demand

AS fans of the Fast and Furious film series await the imminent worldwide release of the ninth movie in the franchise, DStv is serving up a pop-up channel focused on the first eight films in this popular series.

Liz Dziva, publicity and public relations manager of MultiChoice Zimbabwe, said the Fast and Furious films were among the most requested for DStv viewing by subscribers, and the opportunity was now being created for fans to see all eight movies over a contracted period.

Back by popular demand

“With Fast and Furious 9 being released in June, it is opportune to screen all the previous films, for fans and for people who don’t know what they are missing,” she said.

The M-Net Movies Fast and Furious Pop-Up Channel will be available to DStv Premium, Compact Plus and Compact customers, launching on Friday May 21 and running until Sunday May 30. It runs on DStv channel 111 and will air each day from 6am to 10pm.

The series is a set of action films focused on street racing, heists and spies, and was launched in 2001 with the first film, The Fast and The Furious. Since then, movies have included 2 Fast 2 Furious, The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift, Fast and Furious, Fast Five, Fast and Furious 6, Furious 7 and The Fate of the Furious. The franchise includes a spin-off, called Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw.

Hobbs and Shaw will also be screened in coming weeks on M-Net Movies 2 and the whole series will also be available on DStv Catch Up between May 21 and June 30.

“This will be 10 days of action and adrenaline as Dominic Toretto, Brian O’Conner and their crew take us on a thrilling ride from underground street racing, hijacking, and heists to being global spies fighting some of the world’s deadliest assassins and high-performance drivers,” said Ms Dziva.
